93% of men worry about it. Only 19% know what’s behind it. Let’s talk about hair.
We ran a survey where men answered questions about hair, confidence and scalp wellbeing. The results were surprisingly clear: men are interested in taking care of their hair, and many start thinking about their hair long before any major changes show up in the mirror. That’s why scalp wellbeing is worth talking about early, openly and without making it awkward. Prevention is the smartest way to look after your hair. When your scalp is doing well, your hair has a better foundation to grow strong and healthy.
Hair affects how you feel. And that’s not shallow.
In our survey, 93% of men said they were worried about hair loss, and 60% said they worry about it often. What really makes you pause is this: 86% said the idea of changes in their hair affected their mood or confidence.
It’s about how your reflection feels when you look in the mirror, and what others might think. It’s about whether you still recognize yourself. Whether you feel like yourself, or whether you suddenly find yourself reaching for a cap “just because”.
More happens in front of the mirror than people say out loud
Hair-related worries often show up in small everyday moments. A quick glance in the mirror. Checking the temples. Comparing today’s hairline to old photos. According to our survey, 94% of men keep an eye on changes in their hair at least sometimes, and nearly half do it actively.
In other words: men do notice. They check. They think about it. They look for information. That’s exactly why the topic should be talked about directly, but intelligently. No fearmongering. No awkwardness. No tired old jokes.
Scalp wellbeing deserves the spotlight
Many things affect hair, including genetics, age, hormones, stress, nutrition, lifestyle and scalp wellbeing. You can’t control everything, and you don’t need to. But there is one thing worth holding on to: your scalp is worth taking care of before you start noticing changes in the mirror.
Your scalp is a bit like your skin. It shouldn’t only get attention once something feels off. Regular cleansing, products designed for your scalp’s needs and a routine that actually works all help support hair wellbeing in everyday life. Hair grows from the scalp, so the groundwork really does matter.
Prevention is the smartest hair move
Many people only start paying attention to scalp care once visible changes begin to appear in their hair. That’s understandable, but when it comes to haircare, prevention is the cleverest move.
When you take care of your scalp before problems appear, you’re not reacting in panic mode. You’re building a routine that supports your hair’s natural wellbeing in the long run. Scalp care isn’t an emergency measure. It’s part of normal, smart haircare.
There’s plenty of interest. More information is needed.
According to our survey, 97% of respondents were interested in preventing hair loss, but only 19% felt they had a good understanding of what could cause it.
Men are interested in their hair, but many are looking for clear information, concrete routines and expert guidance on how to take care of their hair and scalp early enough.
From under the cap towards more open hair talk
65% of survey respondents said they hide their hair under a beanie or cap at least sometimes. One in three does it often. It’s an interesting number, and a very human one.
Maybe it’s a way of finding a little extra confidence. Maybe it’s an easy way to cover something that feels hard to say out loud. That’s exactly why we need to be able to talk about hair and scalp wellbeing normally. Worrying about your hair doesn’t make anyone less confident.
Taking care of your scalp is everyday common sense
The best hair talk is based on knowledge, not shame. Everyone has the right to understand their own hair better and make choices early.
If you’ve ever checked your hairline a little too closely in the mirror, you are definitely not alone. If you’ve put on a cap just in case, plenty of others have done the same. And if you’re wondering whether you should start investing in your scalp wellbeing now, the answer is clear: yes, you should.
The best time to start caring for your scalp isn’t once a change starts to worry you. The best time is when you want to look after your hair early. Make the easy Four Reasons BASE® routine part of your everyday life:
1. WASH: cleansing that supports the scalp
Cleansing is the foundation of everything. BASE approaches this from two different angles:
When the focus is hair loss and strengthening
BASE Anti-Hairloss Shampoo: a strengthening shampoo that helps prevent hair loss and stimulates the scalp. This is your go-to shampoo when you want to hold on to your hair.
When your scalp is acting up
If you’re dealing with itching, dandruff or imbalance: BASE Cool Control Shampoo is a cooling shampoo that soothes itching, fights dandruff and balances the scalp. Scalp irritation and inflammation are often underlying factors behind hair loss.
2. STRENGTHEN: a leave-in product is the one that stays to do the work
Many people hope shampoo will do it all. That’s a bit like trying to take care of your face with cleanser alone. Cleansing matters, but the treatment step is the one that stays on and keeps working.
The strengthening step is BASE THE Serum, a fortifying scalp serum that supports hair loss prevention. It stimulates the scalp while balancing and soothing it.
And this is where consistency comes in, because scalp concerns usually don’t change overnight.
3. FINISH: use your favourite styling products
Choose products that give the hair structure, texture and hold. Psst… during 2026, the Four Reasons BASE range will be getting exactly these kinds of products.
